About Mary's approach

I work with individuals, families and couples to help them build, strengthen, and heal their relationships. In more than a dozen years of clinical practice, I have developed transformative ways to work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. I use a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, as well as cutting-edge neuroscience such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I also help individuals who are facing life transitions, or who are experiencing difficulties in their partner relationships.
I use a cutting-edge neurobiological lens in my therapeutic work. I am a Mentor and trainer for the Child Trauma Academy and train other health care professionals in this area. I have presented at conferences, mental health organizations and schools.

My Philosophy

"We are neurobiologically designed to be in healthy relationships with others, therefore ruptured, damaged relationships negatively affect our mind, body and spirit. I accept clients as they are and collaboratively develop goals. I have experience with diverse family structures, and cross-cultural families and have lived extensively overseas, giving me a unique cultural perspective."

~ Mary

Why Choose Mary

Choosing a therapist is about finding the right balance of clinical skill and genuine empathy. I offer a unique "neurobiological lens" to therapy—moving beyond traditional talk therapy to use science-backed tools like EMDR and CBT that actually rewire how your brain processes stress and trauma.

Expertise

As a mentor in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, I don’t just use these tools; I train other professionals in them.

Intercultural Lens

My experience living overseas and working with diverse family structures means I meet you with a deep, cross-cultural perspective—no judgment, just collaboration.

Focus On The Whole Person

We will work together to heal the mind, body, and spirit by strengthening the relationships that sustain you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during our first session?

The first session is a "getting to know you" phase. It's a safe, non-judgmental space to discuss your concerns, your history and what you hope to achieve.

In that time you'll also get to know me and decide if it feels like we are a good fit. I will listen to what you hope to achieve in therapy and together we will set goals.

How is your approach unique?

I approach therapy with a mixture of talk therapy and cutting-edge neuroscience-informed approaches to help you "re-wire" your brain. Sessions aren't just a time for me to listen — it is a time when we will practice techniques that will help you heal.

Do you accept insurance?

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) PPO and can also provide what you need for direct billing for other insurance or self-paid clients.
